Weigh In
In lieu of regular posting, I thought I’d have a weigh in.
199 pounds.
I seem to be static, up a pound from last weigh in, but essentially the same. I look slimmer though, a tiny amount all over. And my trousers fit again.
I’m back to a more sedentary work-mode, so I shall have to be careful once more, and I’ll monitor my intake to be under 2500 a day, rather than just over as I suggested in a recent post.
More exercise is needed, a sore knee has scuppered the recent increase. It’s not so bad now so no excuses! I do have a habit of doing no exercise when I have an injury, instead of working around it, I just give up altogether! But cardio work is hard with a knee out of action.

I twisted my ankle in August and twice now have retwisted it (not exercising, just walking!) which has been frustrating. I know what you mean about dropping the entire exercise routine instead of working around it. Tue/Thur work-outs now all avoid anything to do with my legs (they are probably my fittest parts of the body anyway) so I have no excuse – but I”m noticing the ankle is hurting again now that I’ve been walking on the beach.

I’ve just been cycling down the beach (a different beach, no doubt, but amazingly joined by the same water), and I spun the pedals more, rather than pushing hard in a high gear like I tend to, and it was easier on the knee, so that might be my solution.

Sylvia, did you get any physio at the time of the sprain? When you get a reoccurrance as you’re describing, it could be helped by strengthening the muscles around the ankle/foot.

Simon: I always put a toe in the water, simply because I’m so intrigued by the idea of it all being attached, and the wave licking my ankle lasting all the way to the California coastline.
Anna: I didn’t – although I had decided that if I had another re-occurrence I was going to have to find someone to take a look and make some recommendations. So far it seems ok (just a bit of soreness at the beach as above) so I’m hoping it’ll be ok.
