No appetite

It’s probably the heat but I didn’t have much of an appetite today. I bought a small fillet steak but had to force myself to eat it.

Lovely British Barbecues

I knew watching calories today was going to be difficult because a) we were invited to a barbecue and b) it was to celebrate my birthday so I’d have to have birthday cake. (no hardship really!) I tried to be good all day in preparation and I don’t think I did too badly. At least I didn’t eat as much as I would have in the past.

The weather was really beautiful and it was lovely sitting outside until about 10 pm. My problem with barbecues is that more and more meats come off the grill and also there are loads of lovely salads, rolls, potato wedges, etc that stay on the table all evening and it is difficult not to sit and pick at food as you talk.

We brought home the remainder of the birthday cake. I’d better go and throw it in the bin before I eat the rest!
