That sounds like good progress.

re: fruit - did you see my list of various snackable foods to make 100 calories? Fruits weren't in the order I expected; for example, strawberries are low in calories.

Paola: Yesterday I didn't realize I'd be out quite as long as I was, so I didn't pack snacks. As for the churro, my husband and I ordered the wrap and split it, and he ordered the churro for himself. I fully intended to NOT eat any of it, but I kept nibbling little pieces here and there. In the end, I counted it as half, even if it wasn't quite that much.

Fruits and Veg: I love veggies, I've always eaten lots of them. The big change for me now is that I don't load them down with salt, butter, sauces, etc. As for fruit... that's been a HUGE change. I spent a few months literally forcing myself to eat one piece of fruit each day. At first it was just apples -- that was all I could stomach. But more recently, I've incorporated a lot more fruit into my diet. I can't say that I *love* it, but I don't hate it as much as I used to.

You've done amazingly well.

I very well know what it's like to be faced with food choices after being hungry for too long. It's so hard not to eat too much.

I wonder whether - on the days you know you're gonna be out - you can take something in your bag that's a known low calorie quantity that you can snack on to keep you going in the long gaps?

I also notice you're eating a good amount of fruit and veg. Are you enjoying it?

I just looked up "churro" and read that it's a "deep-fried dough pastry-based snack". Eek. Did you get it for yumminess, because it came with the wrap or to fill you up?
