10:45am  Rye bread with soft cheese + tomatoes + tea

I was gonna have an orange but then remembered that tomato was a fruit too.

With one green olive and a finger-sized piece of brown bread with sultanas. The salad was quite greasy and endive is not pleasant but I ate it all anyway.

Early Weigh-In

It was such a beautiful morning, that I left early and got off the train at Clapham Junction and walked to Chelsea Bridge via Battersea Park. Because it’s been an easterly wind, the planes are all landing over Windsor, rather than approaching over central London, so the park was blissfully quiet this morning — eerily so. I hadn’t realised how attuned to the noise I am until it’s not there! As a result of the walk, I managed over 12400 steps.

I was conscious of my low calorie counts, so had a slice of peanut buttered toast in addition to my usual yoghurt and at lunch, had a very small helping of rice pudding (so small, in fact that the lady at the till said she couldn’t possibly charge me the full 95p and charged me 40p instead — bargain!). And no, I’ve not fallen off the wagon on the sweets stake! :-)

I considered Paola’s decision to weigh-in on Sundays and actually it would suit me better to do the same. I started the diet on April 1st which was a Tuesday, but I know I’m going to be away the Tuesday after next, so last week and this week are 6-day weeks (i.e. I weighed myself today and will again on Sunday).

P.S. In the first version I published, I forgot to put in the calories for the rice pudding, so I’ve added it in, but because it’s pushed up the total, I’ve removed the pineapple I’ve not yet eaten. I’ll have it for brekkies tomorrow instead.

I have to admit that I ate the strawberries and cream at the end of the day simply because I *could* — I wasn’t really hungry. Clearly, I still have a long way to go.
