Fly-by Friday
I made this Korean soup for lunch but I made it with chard (of course). I had a leftover grilled hamburger from the other day so I broke that up and just fried it very briefly with the garlic and onion, so I was able to use less oil. On the other hand, I upped the calories by using chicken broth instead of water. My version worked out at about 350 calories for a really big portion, which I ate for lunch with left-overs that I had as a starter at dinner time.
| Meal | Food | Drink | Calories |
|---|---|---|
| Lunch | Chard Soup | 350 |
| Sub-total | 350 | |
| Dinner | Fillet steak | 381 |
| beans | 101 | |
| salad | 20 | |
| olive oil | 40 | |
| Sub-total | 542 | |
| Snack | Cottage cheese | 90 |
| Teas with honey | 64 | |
| Sub-total | 154 | |
| Total | 1,046 | |
I spent half the day in bed so I have to admit there was no real temptation to eat more. I am feeling a bit better today though (and hungry!)

Looks healthy and tasty. Good to hear you’re feeling better.

Sorry to hear you’re still not feeling well. I suppose the upside of it is that your stomach is likely to shrink as you’re not eating much so that by the time you feel better, when you eat you’ll feel fuller, sooner.

Feeling MUCH better now, just a bit weary and a stuffy nose. Ugh, but now I have much more catching up to do than I thought I did!
Scales this morning showing another pound and a bit off! I’ll do the full weigh-in during the week but I’m feeling pretty positive.

It’s good to hear you’re on the mend. I think having good weightloss at the start of a diet is really motivating, so I’m glad this much has happened.
My experience is that colds are bad when dieting as they tend to leave me a) without energy b) breathless when I try any activity/exertion and c) feeling sorry for myself and therefore wanting to ‘comfort eat’ (i.e. sweet things).
