Felt tired and run-down. Paola ended up mentioning that it could be the low calories and I realised that I’d only had 360 calories that day. I had my pumpernickel and cheese snack and felt better. I think probably the difference is that I’ve been exercising again (walking mon/wed/fri and quick training on tue/thur). I’ll have to keep an eye on it.

The end of a busy week and a half!

Friday seemed very food-orientated! I ran an all-day course which had danish pastries and fruit salad served at the start. Lunch was a big buffet of cold and hot dishes (which I had very little of). Mid-morning and mid-afternoon breaks included freshly baked cookies which gave off a wonderful aroma! It really is no wonder that I have gained so much weight in the 6 years I’ve been doing this job… It is only by sheer willpower that I don’t indulge myself.

It’s been a tiring couple of weeks. Last Thursday I had got up at 5:30am to head to Devon for my mum’s birthday (couldn’t leave the night before as Emma had theatre tickets). It had taken 4 hours and then it was all social stuff with friends and family ending late Thursday night. Friday lunchtime I drove back to London, but caught a lot of traffic – so it had taken over 5 hours. Saturday, despite being shattered, I headed off to a meet just after lunchtime and got home mid-evening. Sunday morning was spent doing housework, shopping, laundry and packing before I headed off to Liverpool at 5pm that afternoon. I ran a 2-day session which was very tiring and got back to my flat at 10pm on Tuesday after train cancellations and re-routes. I had another latish night at the Mexican on Thursday with the group of 20 I took on the course yesterday. Yesterday we had various problems and having got in to work at 8am, I ended up running around the (large) building trying to sort the issues out before we got started. It’s no wonder then that I put in nearly 12,000 steps yesterday! I was so shattered last night, I could barely eat and had to go to bed at 10pm, sleeping for 9 hours straight (I normally go at midnight and need only 6 hours). Phew! :-)
