I’m one of those people who tends not to keep the fridge stocked, but rather prefers to pop into the supermarket on the way home to pick something up. So finding myself confined to the flat with the dickie foot, I had to rely on whatever I had in. Which is why lunch was rather spare. I went out late afternoon or I’d have starved, and picked up a few bits and pieces. I remembered to weigh the hot roast chicken I bought before I ate it! Result!

Dinner Surprise

I had to work my new “summer job” tonight and was pretty tired when I got home around 6:00pm. Luckily, my husband had prepared dinner for me. It’s important to note that my husband is a) not overweight b) is not on a diet and c) and has one of those metabolisms that allows him to eat just about anything without gaining weight. That said, although he really does try to be supportive, his usual food offerings consist of things that are perfectly fine for him to eat, but are nowhere near acceptable for someone who’s trying to lose weight and maintain a low(er) daily calorie intake. So… most of the time, I do the cooking, otherwise I’d be eating hotdogs, fritos and rootbeer floats all of the time. Anyway, tonight he did really well. My dinner salad was prepared entirely by him; it was the perfect portion and it helped me stay within my caloric goals for the day. PLUS, I didn’t have to cook it. Total bonus!
