Meh.

We went out with some friends this afternoon and I ate a lot more than I should have. The calories are bad enough, but what bothers me most is that I was pretty full early on, but just kept eating.

In better news, this evening, my husband was hungry and suggested we run out and get something to eat. He said something along the lines of, “well, if you’ve already blown it today, what’s a little something else?” But I resisted, remembering my recent post about not falling prey to the “all or nothing” mentality. I’m feeling a little hungry now and may still have a yogurt and/or a piece of lowfat cheese. I’ve added the calories just in — just in case.

Anyway, tomorrow is my chance to do much, much better.

Meal Food | Drink Calories
2:30pm about 4 oz grilled chicken 150
grilled onions and peppers 90
small salad with about 1 tbls of guacamole 100
more chips and salsa than a care to count 600
queso dip 250
Sub-total 1,190
6:00pm 1/2 skinny vanilla latte from starbucks 50
Sub-total 50
9:30pm 3 oz lowfat strawberry yogurt 90
1 wedge lowfat cheese 50
Sub-total 140
Water about 2 liters
Total 1,380

Hey Jen, congratulations on sticking to your resolve and not following hubby’s suggestion. I wonder if you could come up with a strategy for situations where you know you’re full but have the opportunity to continue “grazing”?

That’s really tough – especially with your husband giving you permission to throw in the towel. You did great!

The main thing keeping me on the straight and narrow is the steely eyes of my boyfriend asking “so how many calories is that then” every time I get a bite to eat!

Frankly, I think 1380 is a totally respectable number! I know it’s the overeating part that bugs you, but I say congrats for not letting it get insanely out of control…

You’re sounding like a reformed person more and more. I can hear it your voice, er, writing. Keep it up.

    Best wishes
