Day 353: First afternoon off
23 Dec 2008: Working from the moment I got up. I had a caramel rice cake at 5pm. We dashed off to the shops in the late afternoon for Frank to start shopping for presents.
9pm Vegetable puri + vegetable korma with chapati + diet Coke + After Eight mint
I didn’t know what the starter was when I’d ordered it. I had hoped the ‘puri’ was the small kind in pani puri. But it was a normal-sized fried bread.

After eating the starter (that came with a sweet mint dressing), I realised that it would normally have served as a meal.

It felt strange waiting for a main course of curry and bread, wishing I’d just had the starter but knowing I’d eat what arrived anyway.

I gave the rest of the spiced biscuits to Marcus. I’d been eating them as they’d gone too hard for Frank.

That night, feeling my big legs, I felt that I wanted to be thinner. I was going to try to eat less as I’d rather have smaller legs than eat more than I need.
