3:45pm Slim-Fast chocolate peanut snack bar + tea

My local supermarket carries Slim-Fast snacks – one sweet and one savoury. I bought one of the sweet snack bars for research purposes. What makes the bar tailored to anyone on a diet are the words “slim”, “snack” and the number of calories printed on the packaging.

Here are the ingredients for a 26g Slim-Fast chocolate peanut bar (in order of descending quantity): Caramel (25%), Glucose Syrup, Milk Chocolate (22%), Sugar, Peanuts (7%), Bulking Agent, Skimmed Milk Powder, Vegetable Oil, Egg White, Salt, Flavourings, Colour.

50% of the bar is sugar.

7:30pm Beans, mince and tomatoes with dumplings + clementine

I felt like (and used to have) a whole second bowl after finishing the first one.

  1. You did really well, as usual. The figs with the cottage cheese looked lovely. The chilli also looked yummy.

    Amazing that Slim fast have the cheek to call that a diet bar. I know people who would eat those bars along with the shakes and assume they were getting a nutritious meal.
