5:10pm Carrot, celery and apple soup + half pint of squash
I started to make a tomato soup with the tomatoes I picked up on Saturday. I added tomato puree, sun-dried tomatoes, an orange, three carrots, red & yellow peppers, mild fresh chillies, garlic and red onion. No oil.
Although tasty, it was grainy. I realised that, although I could sieve it to make a smooth soup, I’d be losing the fibre. So I reduced it by simmering it more and bagged it into 250g / 9 oz portions (66 calories) as a pasta sauce.

9pm Three-course dinner @ neighbour Gary’s
Starter: Waldorf salad (celery, apple, raisins, walnuts) in a mustard and balsamic dressing
Main: pasta with curried tomato chickpeas + plain veg (cabbage, broccoli and carrots)
Dessert: blackberry ice cream with fresh fruit
Drinks: a little champagne + small bottle of lager (beer)
I helped myself to seconds of the main even though I wasn’t hungry, but to be polite. *sigh* Frank and Gary had cakes and chocolate with their coffee.
