Day 255: Sweet tomatoes

We’re running low on stuff and due for a big food shop. In the meantime, thinking up things to eat with what we have left (lots of beans!) will be an interesting challenge. But we’re getting a bigger Abel & Cole box tomorrow, so that’ll be good.

11am  Banana and honey sandwich + tea

Yes, three bits of bread, as the two picked first from the new loaf were teeny.

2pm  Beans, tofu and tomatoes with dumplings and peas + clementine

Last of the stew-thing, padded out with peas and cheese. I got caught out with the cheese as these were the crumbs from grating a new pack. I just threw them all into my plate before realising how much they’d be (40g). Usually I’d aim for half the amount per portion.

Immediately followed by a small bowl of the tomato soup I’d made for Frank. It was made with two tins of tomatoes, one tin of sweet & sour sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, a tin of cannellini beans, an orange, smoked paprika and Chinese Five Spice. Yummy.

    Ooo… have you ever had bananas on toast? Okay, not quite as healthy as you sprinkle a little brown sugar on the top before putting them under the grill so they caramelise nicely. Is *gorgeous*.

  2. That tomato soup looks fantastic and very low in calories too. I am going to try something like that this weekend.
